Jennifer Aniston

From the moment Jennifer Aniston stepped onto the set of Friends, she has been a style icon-the personification of Girl Next Door. When Aniston first shot to fame 10 years ago on the TV series Friends, her legendary layered shoulder-length haircut with flippy ends went right along with her. From her much-copied sleek, straight hairstyles to her glamorous Oscar gowns, her look has been admired and imitated by celebrities and non-celebrities alike.

She burst onto the scene as a dark-haired, bright-eyed girl next door. After winning the role of Rachel on Friends, Aniston caused a hair phenomenon in 1995 when her updated shag was copied by women everywhere. Her friend and stylist Chris McMillan says he simply "chopped off" Aniston's wavy hair to achieve the look.

Now a full-blown movie star, the Marley & Me actress keeps it long, shiny and very sophisticated. Aniston does, however, like to play around with color-lip color, that is. Makeup artist Robin Siegel says, "I've used so many different colors on her-pinks, reds, browns. Jen likes to experiment!"

But Jennifer knows how to dress up for the occasion. She has got the causal look going when is out for shopping or out with friends. But at the same time she can look like a sexy hot babe when she wears those evening wear of hers. Jennifer can just make a simple black dress look beautiful with her grace and style.

"Nobody thinks of themselves as sexy, really. Some days you go, 'Hey, I'm not going too bad today.' But if you try and be sexy, you'll never be sexy," says Jennifer. Truly, Jennifer Aniston knows when to look elegant and when to look hardcore hot n sexy!

According to Elizabeth Sporkin, the People magazine's executive editor, "She has a fashion sense that is very accessible. She wears jeans and T-shirts and blazers. She dresses like a regular person, and her evening wear, if you were going to an event, you would think you could really dress like her."

So what’s her style anyway? it’s pretty much basic, but always with an extra twist. Aniston prefers to wear jeans made by Generra, and T-shirts from C&C California. She also likes wearing tailored blazers along with high heeled shoes or Boots.

Make up: Jennifer prefers to go without make up when she can, but living in Hollywood and attending movie premieres makes it virtually impossible. So when she does have to get all dolled up her make up style is always simple and natural. And even if her make-up looks dramatic, it always leans to the natural side.

To pull off her look make the focus your eyes. Choose an earthy tone - any shade of brown will do. Layer darker eye shadow into the crease of your eyelid and then finish it off the look by adding black eyeliner and a layer of black-brown mascara. Because the emphasis of Jen’s look is on the eyes, you want to keep your lips very subtle and fresh. Apply a nude, natural pink lipstick using a lip brush. Blot the lip colour with a tissue to remove excess. There is no need to use a lip liner - you want your lips to look soft and undefined.

Clothes: Jennifer’s fashion style is understated - you’ll never spot her in a fluorescent pink halter-top. She prefers natural colours and fabrics and loves wearing comfortable clothes like jeans, long skirts and tank tops. So replicate her look by always sticking to fabrics like cotton and linen and go for loose fitting rather than tight fitting.

Favorite color: Dark blue

Favourite makeup: MAC products in earthy tones. During the day she only wears mascara and maybe a little lipstick.

Favourite food: "I don't cook. I thaw. And I microwave. And I order in real well."

Jennifer had her first taste of acting at age 11 when she joined the 'Rudolf Steiner' School's drama club. It was also at the 'Rudolf Steiner' School that she developed her passion for art. She began her professional training as a drama student at New York's High School of the Performing Arts.

In 1987, after graduation, she appeared in such Off-Broadway productions as "For Dear Life" and "Dancing on Checker's Grave". In 1989, she landed her first television role, as a series regular on "Molloy" (1990). She also appeared in "The Edge" (1992), "Ferris Bueller" (1990), and had a recurring part on "Herman's Head" (1991).

By 1993, she was floundering. Then, in 1994, a pilot called "Friends Like These" came along. Originally asked to audition for the role of Monica, Aniston refused and auditioned for the role of Rachel Green, the suburban princess turned coffee peddler.
