Divya: Young and dynamic, very talented and one who makes you dance to his tunes! Mithoon is the new sensation with his fresh music doing the rounds in Bollywood and in the minds of the audience. We have this very young Music Composer today on Indya Online with me Divya. He says he wanted to be an instrumentalist at the age of eleven! Let's find out more about him and his forthcoming release The Train!
D: Hi Mithoon! Welcome to Indya Online Mithoon: Hi Divya. Thank you so much!
D: How does it feel to be with your online fans? Mithoon: It's a great feeling!
D: Tell us about yourself now! Mithoon: Divya, my entire family has been into music...the legacy of music in my family began with my grandfather. My grandfather's name is Pandit Ram Prasad Sharma. He has been an institution of music itself and has taught more than 5000 students...and after him it was my father who has composed music for more then 200 films... I have grown up in this kind of an atmosphere Divya...you know when I was eleven I wanted to be an instrumentalist. I started practising keyboard then... I think when I was seventeen, I just got this calling and I wanted to be a Film Composer.
D: Your first time experience with acclaimed and very popular singers like Kay Kay and Sunidhi Chouhan in Bas Ek Pal Mithoon: I was very anxious though...I had a slight advantage Divya. Throughout my childhood I have always been used to the studio atmosphere...I have played for my father's orchestra...You can say it did help me a little bit. I was not completely you know, in this stranger kind of an atmosphere in the studio but my first original score Bas Ek Pal - this is the first time I will be singing out to Kay Kay...the anxiety was there... When I met Kay Kay for the first time, I was very nervous thinking, "How am I going to sing out the song to him?" But Kay Kay - the great person that he is, made me so comfortable and he just lightened the atmosphere so much that I ended up enjoying every minute of that session...
D: Your work in your forthcoming release The Train. Mithoon: Actually Divya I got a call from Mr. Shyaam Bajaj. I spoke to him and he said, "Mithoon can we meet?" I met him and he introduced me to his younger brother Mr. Narendra Bajaj and the directors of the movie too were there. He said that Mithoon there's this film that we are making - called The Train...and I want you to do the complete score...Divya, if you have noticed The Train is my first independent complete score because in Bas Ek Pal also I had shared credits and in Anwar too...
I was thrilled because the criteria I have before taking a project is the script. I always believe that I should be moved by the story of the film. Only then will I be able to express myself in the best possible way. So when I heard the story of The Train I really liked the story. It is a very emotional story and I felt that this film will gel well with my music.
