Sweta Keswani

A television, film and theatre actress, Sweta Keswani is amongst the few who has managed to create a buzz in all three industries. The actress created a fan following for herself with her performances in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand. She displayed her unique ability to add depth and shades of grey to roles broadly labeled 'positive' and 'negative.' Her performances gained her critical acclaim leading many to notice that she, in fact, transformed the public's perception of such characters and, in so doing, to a degree revitalized Indian television.

And it isn't just television that gave Sweta fame - she also received critical acclaim for her performances in the Hindi film Love in Nepal as well as the English Film The Memsahib. Her film, Gas Station on the Expressway is also slated for release this year. Prior to her entry in film and television, Keswani became a household name with her ad films. Most notably, in 2006 she helped spread awareness of the importance of the Hepatitis A vaccine, and in 2007 collaborated with other artists for the cause of AIDS awareness.

Sweta is a trained Kathak dancer. She learnt the dance for 6 years at Sangit Mahabharati institute and later with guruji Shri Surinder Kaur. She is also trained in jazz dance from Shiamak Davar's Dance Academy. Sweta is a self confessed adrenaline junkie. She loves adventure sports like bungee jumping, jet skiing, parasailing, etc. She says "Do one thing that scares you to death at least once a year… it keeps you alive."

Currently engaged to her Nach Baliye 3 partner, Alexx O'Neil, the couple has been together for close to three years now. Even their engagement was a lot like the duo - impromptu and carefree!

Sangeeta Ghosh, her co-star from Desh Mein Nikla Hoga Chand, believes that Keswani has every chance of making it far in the competition. "I know for a fact that Shweta is a very good dancer. She is very comfortable with herself and her body… and that is very important if you have to dance before people in a competition. She is also trained in Kathak and I think that if you have learnt classical dancing then picking up other dances isn't that difficult."
