Chat with Manav Vij

Manav Vij aka Joydeep is a well known face in the television. He speaks about Joydeep's makeover, his singing classes and behind the scenes in Kyunki.

indya: Hello People. This week we have Manav Vij aka Joydeep from Kyunki for chat. Apart from chatting with him, you can also win Manav's personal coffee mug. So make sure you post interesting questions.

indya: Hi Manav and welcome to the indya.com chat.
manav_vij: Thank you.

guest71: Hi Manav... How is it behind the scenes in Kyunki and who are your close friends there?
manav_vij: We have loads of fun on the sets, don't think that we fight because we got to keep seeing each other every day. My buddies on the sets are Pulkit, Rakshanda and Amit Tandon.

guest74: Before acting in Kyunki were you a model?
manav_vij: No, I never did modelling. I am a doctor by profession!

guest86: Did you happen to think twice before accepting the role of Joydeep?
manav_vij: No, I didn't have to. The naration was done so well, that my initial hesitation also passed. I knew I had to and can build this character myself.

guest74: Other than Kyunki which other projects have you worked on?
manav_vij: I debuted in Shaheed Baghat Singh,then did Mannath with Jimmy Shergill and Gurrdas Mann.

guest83: If you are given three wishes by a genie, what would those wishes be?
manav_vij: My mother's health, A Ferrari for my dad and a beautiful huge bunglow for myself.

guest98: Hi Manav, what is your worst nightmare, which you are scared of coming true?
manav_vij: Sitting at home and not working... When people say "I am fit for nothing". This is my worst nightmare.

guest94: One day when you wake up and suddenly realise that you have turned into Joydeep... What would be your reaction?
manav_vij: (Laughs) I will have the biggest laugh of my life and say "Oh my God!".

guest83: Which is the most embrrassing moment of your life?
manav_vij: Yet to come. Nevere been in a situation like that till date.

guest90: In reality, is Bhumi as bad as she is seen on tv?
manav_vij: No! She is supportive, polite and the best person on the set. I am blessed that I have such a great artist like Reshmi opposite me.

suzi_suzan: If not an actor then what would you have choosen to be?
manav_vij: If not an actor... I am already a doctor, so would have been a singer. My mom is a music Proffesor and I also train in Punjabi folk music.

guest65: What are your hopes and dreams for the future?
manav_vij: I hope to be and do the best with what I have been given. Thsi is what my mom has taught me.

guest94: You like working with Smriti or Gautami?
manav_vij: I can't say anything on that. Both a my co-artists. I have interacted with Gautami more, so I am fond of her. But as actors both give their best!

suzi_suzan: Manav, when is your birthday and what is your favorite colour, food, actress and actor? And whom do you admire?
manav_vij: That's along list of Questions! My date of birth is Jan 2, 1977. Favourite Colour - white and green, Food - Punjabi: Sarsoon ka saaz, makki ki roti, occasionally Thai cuisine. Favourite actress - Kajol, Actor - Aamir, Hrithik, Russel Crowe, Tom Hanks - I have learnt a lot from the later two. I admire my parents and I learnt a from Gurdas Mann. If I can be 10 per cent of the person he is, then I will be content.

guest116: If you were given a chance to choose any role in Kyunki, which one would you choose?
manav_vij: Joydeep only! I am happy with it.

guest116: Did you go to any acting school before you came to television?
manav_vij: No, I never thought I would be an actor. I am a Psychologist/Doctor that made me curious about personalities and I am a keen oberser too. So I guess acting seems interesting from that angle!

guest83: You prefer doing what kind of roles?
manav_vij: I want to experiment my versitality. I like Sunny Deol and his action, so I plan to do some of that. Infact I have signed a Punjabi movie where you can see me in a different avtaar.

guest90: Hi Manav, I'm a big fan of Kyunki and I'm waiting for your makeover. Will you leave Bhumi tat time?
manav_vij: I can't say, as i don't know the future script. Personally though I feel Joydeep shouldn't leave Bhumi.

suzi_suzan: Hi Manav, I would like to know if there is any similarity between reel life Joydeep and real life Manav?
manav_vij: Nope. No similarities at all!

guest98: Hi Manav, do you watch any other serials other than Kyunki?
manav_vij: No. I don't have time to watch Kyunki also. If I am on break, then yes, I watch Kyunki.

suzi_suzan: What would you do if you were told you have to spend your whole life with a ghamandi girl like Bhoomi?
manav_vij: I think in real life I will divorce her, so we both can have our breathing space. I will gift her a oxygen cylinder too.

guest98: What homework are you doing for your makeover in Kyunki?
manav_vij: Majorly it is about characterisation and about attitude, I have written a refrence book about Joydeep and I carry it with me everyday, so I can keep in mind all his mannerisms. For the make over I will have a new look altogether.

guest138: It is said that Ekta Kapoor is short tempered... Is it true?
manav_vij: I havn't got into a situation like that. But she has every right to be angry, she is the boss and her work is watched by people. She is answerable to them. If someone is not doing the job properly, then yes anyone will get angry.

guest8: Hi Manav, have you had any recent or past crush on someone and what would your best place be to take that someone special on your first date?
manav_vij: I did have a big time crush once, but she is married and has a child now. But if I had to take my crush out on a date, I would take her to a hill station, talk a lot, make her laugh and have a romantic dinner. I will keep her entertained!
