Nagesh KukunoorNagesh ki dor...

Nagesh Kukunoor, the man who gave a new meaning to Bollywood with his unique sense of film making talks to us on indya about his forthcoming movie Dor...

Hyderabad Blues, Rockford, Bollywood calling, Teen Deewarein, Hyderabad blues 2, Iqbal and now Dor, need we say more? All this sums up to give us one single name behind these wonderfully made movies with a unique blend of style and sensibility. And that's Nagesh Kukunoor for you... This is Divya with the popular Director Nagesh Kukunoor on indya online.

D: Hi Nageshji! Welcome to indya online.
NK: Hi, glad to be here!

D: How does it feel to be with your online fans?
NK: (laughs) Well this is the first time so I am going to find out!

D: What does Dor, your new movie have in store for all the Nagesh Kukunoor fans out there?
NK: I hope that they approach Dor the same way they have for my previous films... As a film maker I would like to challenge myself with every film and entertain the audience...

D: Would you give us a hint on what Dor is all about?
NK: The story is loosely based on a true incident and it revolves around two women - One woman who undertakes a journey to find the other woman and save her husband's life...

D: One script that you have in mind that has not yet been made into a movie...
NK: Actually eight!

D: Eight??
NK: Exactly! I keep writing scripts whenever I get some free time... Right now there are eight scripts that are done which hopefully I will turn into movie over the next few years.

D: Which is your best script, with which you have fallen in love
NK: That's hard to say. I only write scripts that excites me. Each script has a certain time that is right.

Nagesh KukunoorD: How do you describe your style? It is different from all the directors that we have in Bollywood?
NK: Each Director has his own sensibility.

D: Your dream project would be...
NK: Hopefully not one but at least 10 and 1 in every genre.
D: Hey that's cool and thats good news to all your fans out there!

D: An actor who you think would have portrayed the role you played in Hyderabad Blues
NK: (laughs) Honestly you are asking me a what... if... question about a situation that does not exist! and the reason i say that is every movie as a certain period that's right...Hyderabad Blues at that time, that is almost nine years ago, I was right for it. And that's it. It's not that anyone could do better or worse. There are tons of great actors out there.
D: Why did acting take a back seat after Teen Deewarein?
NK: No, I again played the lead in Hyderabad Blues 2. Iqbal did not have a role for me. But I am back in Dor again with a small role.

D: Your favourite past time?
NK: Hiking
D: How much have you done that?
NK: Pretty reasonable but I don't get much time here. Every time in go to the US or any other place I try and spend my weekend hiking.
