Movie Review: Money hain...

Money Hain Toh Hain is a parade of losers.

Cast: Govinda, Hansika, Ravi Kissen, Celina Jaitley, Aftab Shivdasani, Manoj Bajpai, Upen Patel, Prem Chopra, Archana Puran Singh

Direction: Ganesh Acharya

Rating: 1/5

Celina Jaitley plays an aspring fashion designer who wants to take high end fashion to the masses. Hansika plays a TV star desperate for a Bollywood break. Aftab Shivdasani is a down and out ad executive in need of some luck. Upen Patel is an underwear and desi-Viagra model who dreams of gracing the hoardings of Pepsi and Provogue. Manoj Bajpai tries to be positive in spite of being bankrupt and Govinda is a raeez baap ka bigda beta who cons people with his stress-busting ideas. These guys get a call from a dying Prem Chopra to run his company, Jaiswal Textiles and a jealous and greedy Ravi Kissen tries his best to get rid of them all.

MHTHH meanders and bores in spite of being a little over two hours long. Some of it is completely disconnected. The locales with pristine blue seas and white beaches are the only saving grace of the movie. The songs are really sad and go on endlessly while the background score is annoying and unnecessary. I don't understand Bollywood's obsession with hip hop and firangi extras. We know Ganesh Acharya is a good dancer and choreographer but he didn't have to showcase his skills in Hansika's imaginary item number. Then there are spoofs on Vijay Mallya and Ekta Kapoor. Rakhi Tandon's exaggerated take on Ekta Kapoor as Mukti Kapoor is funny. Archana Puran Singh's nymphomaniac character Dolly Kumari is in really bad taste, so is Sophie's cleavage show. MHTHH is full of sexual connotations, double meaning jokes and slapstick comedy. How hard is it to make a clean, intelligent comedy?

Upen Patel's Hindi has improved considerably but he suits Provogue posters and the ramp better than Bollywood. Hansika is very childish; she should concentrate on her studies and take her time to grow up, otherwise she will lose her innocence. She is a good dancer though. Celina Jaitley and Aftab don't have much to do. How could the talented Manoj Bajpai do such a movie? He has made a fool of himself. Govinda is ageing now and he will only work if he does a movie with Salman or Sanjay Dutt. His solo hero days are over. His dancing prowess is intact but he needs to lose weight.

Clearly, Ganesh Acharya is not Farah Khan and he should stick to choreography. It is disheartening to see good money blown up making such trash.

Avoid MHTHH at all costs....Spend your money on a jar of honey instead!
