"It is my conscious effort to do something different each time and I give it my 200% while making a movie and rest leave it to the masses because success or failure is something which is not in my hands," he explains.
Further on he adds, "For me as a person the script which comes to me does not concern me whether it is a conventional or unconventional one. The most important thing that matters is the thought of the concept and it should excite me as a filmmaker to get associated with it."
Even after making movies of different genres, Nagesh is not hooked on to the idea of compulsorily having a big Bollywood actor roped in for his movie. "As a filmmaker what matters to me is whether a particular actor or actress can deliver a performance that suits the script", says the director.
Nagesh, whose Aashayein will be releasing in June, also does not like going ga-ga over his movies before the release because he believes in letting his work speak for itself. "You need to see the film and then give a reaction to it. One thing is rest assured that at the end of my movies, one would leave the theatre elated. That is what I have maintained for all the movies I have done till date."
Recalling how his journey as a filmmaker began, he reveals, "Being a mechanical engineer I always lived a dream of making a film someday, but unless I did not take the step of actually making Hyderabad Blues that would not have happened."
Lastly, the acclaimed director is a superstitious person but that has got to do with people associated with him in making a particular movie. He makes it a point that when his new movie is to be premiered he only invites those people who have worked in and out in making the movie with him.
