Shekhar describes his on screen kiss with the model from his video
I lost my thinking after doing the scene. This is only a small, soft peck and not a smooch. Smooches are normally very powerful. This was just like our lips brushing against each others.
The kiss was required because the flavour of the song is such. It goes according to the song flow and
thairav. It is a test of one's love when lines play- "
Mere ishq dayre main woh makam aaye, koi tode dil tumhara aur mera naam aaye." Then I smooch her.
"I started my film career with smooch scenes and now I am starting my singing career with them!"
I have done
Utsav where I shot for many intimate scenes. In today's world, if you do anything aesthetically, which does not look bad to your viewers, they accept it. It should not look vulgar; it should look soft and romantic.
The idea was Rajiv Goswami's conceptualization. I told him that if he thinks it is suitable then I don't have any objections. If you watch it, it has been done very romantically. It looks nice on screen.
Describing the first song released of the album
It's related to the passion of people who fall in love. Whenever anyone falls in love, there has to be some physicality between them; people kiss or hug each other. Therefore, this was a necessity in the video but the only thing is how you present it. The picturization is very important. We have not emphasized on the kiss; it comes for only half a second. That's why it is beautiful.
Shekhar is all for expressing love
Nowadays every single film carries smooching scenes. Even advertisements carry smooch scenes. It is acknowledged by the government that you can express your love. It is an expression of any kind of love. If you love your son, car, mother, sister or father you kiss them on their cheeks and foreheads. If a girl and a boy have physical intercourse they express their love in this way. There are groups of people who object to each and everything but they have to think about the motives behind. We are in the 21 st century; the whole world is making progress. We should get rid of this thinking.
On his new toned look
I have worked hard for this. I knew that if I wanted to enter this field I would have to work. I myself have worked on this look. I have worked on my body with the help of Satya who has trained Hrithik, Ajay and Isha. I worked with him for four hours everyday.
My wife, Alka is a designer so she took care of my clothes. All these light colours and necklines which I have used in the video were my wife's ideas. We told my director that we want it simple. She used simple and soft colours-pastels, whites, light blue and pinks.
She thinks they are like a rock star's. Alka made a huge contribution to my thin look. She has the knowledge and I always listen to her. People don't like to see gaudy things. That's why they like my new look.
Peri, my hairstylist has done this casual and cool hairstyle for me. Peri styles for Ajay Devgan; he has done his hair in
Cash. I went to his salon and told me that I needed curly or wavy hair that came on to my forehead. So we did that.
We have not tried to do show off. This new look was much needed for me.
Shekhar Suman has become Shekhar Suman's look alike
Now people come to me and say that I look like Shekhar Suman. It's like a rebirth for me. When I look at myself I think 'Who is this good-looking person?'
I have thought that I should get a new look before but some things take place only when the right time comes. I am surprised to see that how anyone can look better after styling. Singing is a glamorous world and styling is necessary.
Currently Shekhar has made his comeback in the Laughter Champion's third series but he says, "I'm not enjoying humour now but I have to do it because I have signed contract with them for three seasons."
