indya : "If the heavens throw you dates, you've got to keep your mouth open." The man who said it is here...So keep prepare to grab the best of this chat! Remember what he said... "Throw a lucky man in a deep sea and he will come out with fish in his mouth!" or "Good intentions die unless utilized." and so will this golden opportunity to chat with Navjot Singh Siddhu!
indya : Well, this is just the beginning! Stay tuned... And hear it all from the man himself!
indya : "One, who doesn't throw the dice, can never expect to score a six"… And one who doesn't post questions on this chat can't expect to have a great evening! So keep those questions posted, right here, right now!Let's not make the pitch on this chat as dead as a dodo.
indya : Hi Siddhuji and welcome to the chat
siddhu : Hi!
divyasarahgojer : How many funny bones do you have?;)
Navjot Singh Siddhusiddhu : I have millions of funny bones! It's like somebody is tickling me non-stop! My parents always said, "laugh and everyone will laugh with you, sleep and you snore alone."
guest68 : How did all your Sidduisms start off?
siddhu : Originality is my strength. When you back your originality, you will be in touch with your real strength and that is how I came to know that there is a huge ocean within me and on churning it, out come - Sidhuisms. In fact someone said that a Sidhuism is like a honeybee… It has got a small body, honey and a sting!
guest79 : How do I propose to a girl, if all she loves is cricket?
siddhu : Any good product without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark, you know what your doing but she doesn't. Similarly, the product has to be seen! It's tit for tat!
Navjot Singh Siddhuguest82 : What do you have to say about Mandira Bedi?
siddhu : This is a tough one! Ah… All I can say is that she is like a rampant river! She is very bubbly, she is original and a bright spark!
guest79 : If I were to marry the girl I love, what do I do with my wife who hits me everyday with a bat?
siddhu : All wives are worse than terrorists! They are very intimidating! You cant marry 450 times! To marry once is a folly, to marry twice is a blunder and to marry thrice is suicide! Marriage is a romance in which the hero dies in the first chapter!
guest63 : From a cricketer to a commentator to a politician, what next?
siddhu : Politics is where it ends. After all, if you succeed then you can enjoy the rewards and if you fail then you can always write a book! For me politics is a mission not a profession. You can change people's lives through it. You can make a difference and that's my goal in life, to make everyone happy.
absolutebond : Who was the best captain you ever played under?
Navjot Singh Siddhusiddhu : I did not play under him but the captain that I adored was Imran Khan! He could convert weaknesses into strengths, obstacles into stepping-stones and disaster into triumph. He was respected because of the way he conducted himself, he was selfless. As far as Indian captains are concerned I think it has to be Ravi Shashtri as he could really inspire the team. He had a strong bond with everybody and understood their limitations.
guest79 : In your store house of memories, which is the best cricket match ever?
siddhu : The World Cup quarter finals against Pakistan. I got the 'Man of the Match award' and we won against Pakistan. Five thousand people assembled outside my house and burst crackers! I have never seen India rejoice to such an extent. That experience will always be etched in my memory. More than anything cricket is a unifying factor. We stop being people from different religions and different backgrounds and instead, are simply Indians when we are playing! It is passion and not pedigree that will make you win in the end!
jatinder28 : I heard that you are venturing into movies. Please tell us more about this.
siddhu : You can't have everything! Where will you keep it? I simply don't have the time and after all time is like money, you can only spend it once! I acted in an Ekta Kapoor serial and have got film offers but as I said before I don't have the time to accept these offers.
Navjot Singh Siddhuabsolutebond : You were called "Sixer Siddhu"… Which six did you like the most?
siddhu : I hated that name because when translated into Hindi, it becomes Chakka Siddhu! Jokes aside… My best sixes were in the Reliance World Cup in 1987… I hit twenty odd sixes. I love sixes because the ball goes so high that it can kiss an air hostess and come down!
jatinder28 :What do you think about the Indian team these days? Do they have any hope for the World Cup?
siddhu : My mantra for the Indian team is… "Make hay while things are going haywire!"
absolutebond : Any plans of coaching team India?
siddhu : He he … You don't murder a man who is trying to commit suicide! Experience is like a comb life gives you when you are bald.
divyasarahgojer : I think that Sidhu without a Sidhuism is like a kangaroo without a pouch.
siddhu : A kangaroo who is not feeling jumpy!
jatinder28 : Siddhuji, tell us a little about your son please.
siddhu : I feel guilty when I look at him because I do not spend enough time with him. He is the finest boy that a father can wish for. The best compliment that I've got in my life was when on the MTV show, my son said that I'm a good father and that he likes me best as a father… Not as a cricketer, commentator or politician.
siddhu : All I want is for him to be happy and I hope that I can be an instrument of happiness in his life.
Navjot Singh Siddhuindya : On that note, we end this chat. Before we leave, any messages for your fans?
siddhu : Thanks for inviting me on this special chat! I love all the fans out there and I wish that they have a great future! Always remember that the past is a bucket full of ashes, nobody built his reputation thinking about tomorrow. So catch the present my dear friends, between yesterday's regret and tomorrow's hope is today's opportunity. Take that opportunity.
indya : Thanks Siddhuji for being here on this chat! Ok... Indyans… That was the man and his vintage thoughts on the chat! We are sure you all loved being here on indya!
indya : Make sure you log onto indya.com to hear his special message... For all his indyan fans!
indya : Bye, take care and remain on indya because "It all happens in indya!"
