Synopsis
Pooja (Pooja Bhatt) is the only daughter of a shipping tycoon Seth Dharamchand (Anupam Kher). She is head over heels in love with a movie star Deepak Kumar. When her father strongly disapproves of their marriage, she jumps from their family yacht and runs away.
She now has to reach Bangalore because Deepak is on a shoot there. Meanwhile her father has sent private detectives to look for her. She manages to elude them, and boards a crowded inter-state bus to Bangalore. In the bus she encounters a smart, loudmouth reporter Raghu Jetley (Aamir Khan) who has just lost his job. Raghu recognizes her from the newpapers and offers to help her in exchange for an exclusive story on her. Pooja accepts and their adventures begin here.
After many hitch-hikes, nightly shelters, the out-of-luck reporter and runaway heiress find themselves attracted to each other. Raghu is afraid of expressing his feelings, as he is well aware about Pooja's situation with Deepak and is in financially no condition to propose to a rich girl. He had expected to get only a juicy story from her for his newspaper but never her heart. What will Raghu do now?
